Our work on the Duke was a combination of intense refurbishment, with parts of the original structure now supported on a delicately placed steel frame, a tall and well-lit rear restaurant addition, and 12 letting rooms added to support this old pub in its new life.
The inspiration for the accommodation at the Duke's Head came from Eel Traps, found nearby on the River Test. This allowed the client to reference the local vernacular and retain trees, limiting the impact that the scheme had on the existing mature rural character.
