D-111 - Site Plan as Proposed with Aeria

The Culverkeys project is an innovative response to provide a large new kitchen to a listed house within a very restricted banked site. We achieved a seamless marriage of the old and new.

A defining characteristic of this project is how the extension was carved out of the natural slope of the site. As a result, the structure appears to organically emerge from the landscape.

The interior of the structure is characterised by open timber beams to add rustic elegance and a warm ambience.

A zinc clad "flat" roof with sedum covering and vertical cedar wall cladding contrast with the painted brick and thatch of the original cottage (which began life as a terrace 3).
